Mission Statement

The 165th Anniversary Coalition is a voluntary alliance of Confederate and Union reenactor organizations gathered to honor the participants of the American Civil War. The aim of the organization is to promote communication and cooperation between the varied organizations and to explore, foster, and promote a series of events to mark the 165th anniversary of important battles of the Civil War.


Goals and Objectives

  • To support and encourage reenactments and living history education events that marks the 165th anniversary of major Civil War battles.
  • Provide event promoters and organizers with resources and information needed to present a safe and historically accurate event.
  • When required, partner with promoters and other organizations to create 165th anniversary events if none presently exist.
  • Promote communications and cooperation between the different organizations and groups involved with reenacting and living history education.
  • Encourage all events to focus on Safety, Historical Value, Public Education and American Culture with a strong emphasis on educational value.
